Gold OA

A Gold Open Access article is an article that is published with a Creative Commons license. It's publisher PDF may be posted to the author's institutional repository immediately upon its acceptance to a journal.

Green OA (Self-archiving)

If your work is published on the Green Open Access route, most of the publishers state that author retains the right to make Author’s Accepted Manuscripts(AAM) or Author Original Manuscripts(AOM) of their publications available for public release on authors' institutional repositories several months after first publication (also called "Embargo Periods", 0 to 36 months according to publisher policies).
