EndNote 21 can be downloaded at https://support.clarivate.com/Endnote/s/article/Download-EndNote?language=en_US.

If you are an iOS user, please download the installer on the app store.

**Note: Please choose "I have a Product Key" during installation, and you will be prompted to enter your Product Key.

Link your CEIBS account to EndNote and find Fulltext at CEIBS

  • Link your CEIBS account to EndNote with 3 steps
  1. Go to "Edit" and click "Preferences"
  2. Under the section "Find Full Text" please fill the form with the following information
  • OpenURL Path: https://ceibs.userservices.exlibrisgroup.com.cn/openurl/86CEIBS_INST/86CEIBS_INST:Services?
  • Authentication: https://sso.ceibs.edu/login
  1. Click "OK" and save the changes


  • Find Fulltext at CEIBS with EndNote with 4 steps

  1. Right click the article that you want to view
  2. Under the section "Find Full Text" please click "Find Full Text"
  3. Go to the "Find Full Text" section and click "Found PDF"
  4. Double click the article title and view the full-text item

Adding References

There are many ways to add references to EndNote X9. You can:

  • add reference from Web of Science search results
  • sync your records in EndNote Online with EndNote X9
  • import PDFs from a folder
  • import references from other reference manager
  • add a reference manually

  • Add reference from Web of Science search results
  1. Visit Web of Science and search your keywords
  2. Click the "Export" button and select "Endnote desktop"
  3. Select what record content you would like to export and click "Export"

  1. Open EndNote X9, and click "File" on menu
  2. Select "Import" and choose "File"
  3. Select the file you've exported from Web of Science and choose "EndNote generated XML" for "Import Option"
  4. Click "Import"
  5. You can find the records in "Imported References"
  1. Open EndNote X9
  2. Right click the file that you've exported from Web of Science and select "Open with"
  3. Choose "EndNote X9" programme to open the file in EndNote
  4. You can find the records in "Imported References"


  • Sync your records in EndNote Online with EndNote X9 
  1. Open EndNote X9 
  2. Click "Library" and select "Sync"
  3. Login your Web of Science account and sync your references with EndNote Online in EndNote X9


  • Import PDFs from a folder
  1. Open EndNote X9 and click "File" on menu
  2. Select "Import" and choose "Folder"
  3. Select the folder you want to import, and manage other settings
  4. Click "Import"
  5. You can find the new group under the section "My Library"


  • Import references from reference manager
  1. Start the reference manager and export records to RIS format.
  2. Open EndNote X9 and go to "File" and click "Import".
  3. Click "Import Options" and select "Referencef Manager (RIS)"
  4. Click "Import"
  5. You can the records in "Imported References"

  • Add a reference manually
  1. Open EndNote X9
  2. Click "References" on menu and select "New Reference"
  3. Set "Reference Type" and enter information
  4. Close the "New Reference" window  by clicking on the "X" and save changes.
