Introduction

Access to EndNote Online


  • Visit EndNote Online 

EndNote Online can be accessed in Web of Science(WoS). Please visit  WoS from CEIBS library and select "EndNote Online" under the "Reference Manager" from "Product" on the upper-right.

 


  • Sign into EndNote Online / Register an Account

Please click Sign In on the upper-right and login your WoS account.

If you don't have a WoS account, please register with your CEIBS e-mail address on WoS website. 

Generating Bibliography and Citations

  • Create a reference list online
  1. Go to "Format" and select a group of items that you want to cite.
  2. Select a reference style that you want to use
  3. select file format
  4. Click "Preview & Print" to preview the reference list 
  5. Copy the list to your article OR close the preview window and click "Save"

Exporting References

  • To export your references from EndNote Online:
  1. Please go to "Format" and click "Export References"
  2. Select a group that you want to export
  3. Choose a reference style that you want to export your references in

Managing and Sharing References

  • Managing and Sharing your references with collaborators who also has a Web of Science account
  1. Click "Organize" on menu
  2. Select "Manage My Groups" and manage your groups
  3. Click "Manage Sharing" and edit sharing settings for each group
  4. Enter your collaborators' Web of Science account e-mail addresses
  5. Manage permission options
  6. Click "Apply"

Match your Manuscripts with Relevant Journals

  • Looking for a journal for publication
  1. Go to "Match"
  2. Input title and abstract of your paper
  3. select the group of references of the paper
  4. Click "Find Journals"

Finding Related Research

  • Finding the original source of an article or searching related records of the reference item
  1. Click "My References"
  2. Find the reference item that your are interested in and click its title
  3. Click "Related Records" or "Source Record"

Account Settings

To manage your account settings online, please click "Options" on the menu and edit your account information.

Adding References

In EndNote Online, you can add a reference manually, from EndNote X9, from online catalogue searching or from a file that you export from other databases.

  • Synchronising your records in EndNote X9 with EndNote Online
  • Importing references from EndNote X9
  • Importing references from a file (from other reference manager)
  • Importing references from Web of Science search results list

  • Synchronising your records in EndNote X9 with EndNote Online
  1. Open EndNote X9 
  2. Click "Library" and select "Sync"
  3. Login your Web of Science account and sync your references with EndNote Online in EndNote X9


  • Importing references from EndNote X9
  1. Open EndNote X9 and from the "Edit" menu, select "Output Styles", and then click "EndNote Export"
  2. Go to "File" and select "Export". Save the file in "Text File (*.txt)" type

 

Note: If the "EndNote Export" is not on list, please click "Open Style Manager" and select it.


  • Importing references from a file (from other reference manager)
  1. Start the reference manager and export records to RIS format.
  2. Visit EndNote Online and go to "Collect" and click "Import References".
  3. Click "Import Options" and select "RefMan RIS"


  • Importing references from Web of Science search results list
  1. Go to Web of Science and search your keywords. 
  2. Click the "Export" button on the right side of the refine menu
  3. Select "EndNote Online"
